choose foods based on your body, not on meal plans or diets

Why?  Because…

I believe that the food choices a person makes should come from a foundation of:

  • Listening to your body (how hungry are you, what foods are you craving)
  • How to plan a balanced meal that meets your needs (using MyPlate guidelines, Ayurveda principles, or whatever plan you have developed with your dietitian to help manage blood sugar, sodium, specific nutrient deficiencies, or anything else that is of importance to you)
  • Making each eating experience enjoyable and something to look forward to

And I believe that the food choices a person makes should NOT:

  • Make you feel guilty, inept, or unsure of whether you’re doing it “right” to meet your goals
  • Be made as a last priority or considered unimportant
  • Feel like work

And meal plans usually don’t provide as much flexibility as a person may need on a day-to-day, moment-to-moment basis (they’re not meant to, by design).  It’s important to be able to think about food freely, and confidently make your own meal choices by using certain tools and guidelines that feel natural to you.

Granted, there is a learning curve for some people to adopt some of the changes I suggest, but the guidelines and tools I provide in my workshops are designed to be simple and easy to remember so you can call upon them without needing a textbook or app, and, eventually, it becomes second nature to know what foods to include in your daily routine and how to do it so you enjoy it.  In my experience, having something at your fingertips because you have internalized it and made it your own is empowering, and usually leads you to make other beneficial changes in your life because you know you can do it.

Empowering others to take control of their habits by providing the resources necessary to support change is the mission of LBH Wellness.  You can do it, and I can support you, whether it’s through nutrition workshops at your work site, essential oil events in the community or in your home, yoga classes, and more, you can find what you need and sow the seeds of positive change for yourself.

I want to know what you want to see from me in 2017.  As of right now, I’m planning:

  • Recorded meditation and yoga online sessions (free and paid subscription-based)
  • Free online and in-person essential oil workshops
  • A weekend wellness retreat on Long Island
  • More offerings for work site wellness programs for nutrition, meditation, and office yoga

Please get in touch with me and let me know what I can do to support you.  What are your goals?  What barriers have you had in the past that prevented you from reaching those goals?  Do you prefer online or in person services?  Do you prefer email, social media, or something else as a means of communication?

I am so thankful for the amazing people I’ve met along my LBH Wellness journey so far, and I’m excited to see where 2017 takes me!  I hope you have a happy and healthy new year, and I hope to see, hear, and/or practice with you soon!
